Live interview Fox Business with CEO Ralph Hamers

This morning CEO Ralph Hamers of ING joined Fox Business anchor woman Maria Bartiromo for a live interview in “Mornings with Maria”.

Ralph discussed the prospects for the European economy from the perspective of 'one of Europe's largest lenders' according to Fox’s Maria Bartiromo.

Ralph also commented on recently announced job cuts on Wall Street by some of the big players in the US, saying that it depends on where your focus is. ING's commercial banking activities in the US are concentrated in segments like structured finance and trade and commodity finance where ING is actually growing. Also in some of the challenger markets in Europe, where ING acts as a disruptor to the market, ING is growing as we gain market share.

Maria and Ralph also talked more broadly about the economic developments in Europe, how Quantative Easing is starting to work, albeit in a more indirect way than expected, while dealing with uncertainties like the BrExit and GrExit that surrounds these developments.
