Mozo People’s Choice Awards

For the fifth year running, Australia has scooped the pools at the annual Mozo People’s Choice Awards. Australia was again crowned the Best Bank and also took out awards for the Best Bank Account, Best Debit Card, Best Savings Account and top-five Home Loan.

Directly voted on by customers

CEO Vaughn Richtor said it was always great to be nominated for industry awards, but we should be particularly proud of winning Mozo awards, as they are directly voted on by customers:

Over 25,000 Australians voted for us, which is not only excellent recognition but also a clear message that we are helping our customers get ahead

Customers rated their banks on everything from price to convenience and after tallying the votes Mozo found overall banking satisfaction is at 7.85, up from 7.17 in 2011, with 68 percent of Australians now fans of their bank.

Mozo

Mozo, which is short for Money Zone, is an online community where customers rate their banking provider in a range of different areas such as overall satisfaction, price, features, customer service, convenience, claims handling and trust.

People’s Choice Awards

Once a year, Mozo uses the ratings averages to award banks and insurers with the People's Choice Awards to give banking customers a real voice in the money marketplace. It represents the largest financial conversation in Australia, and the results offer a genuine consumer survey on banks, car insurance, credit cards, loans and savings products according to Mozo.

Mozo director Kirsty Lamont said "Australians are generally happier with their banks regardless of size as the combination of low interest rates and improved service is a recipe for bank happiness.”
