From 13 November 2012 to 16 March 2013, Henk Helmantel will be showing in Kampen with Inspiration – church interiors, still lifes and icons. ING will be lending two art works to this exhibition.
What is there to see?

Reverence for the Creator
Henk Helmantel's realistic painting style reveals not only great admiration for 17th century painting but also special reverence for and marvel in creation in the world around him.
The artist's respect for creation cannot be detached from his reverence for the Creator himself.
In this exhibition, Henk Helmantel takes us into his ‘typical’ reality by using some thirty church interiors and still lifes to illustrate the choices he makes when he creates and transforms reality. The icons from the Icon Museum's collection are used to exemplify certain choices or to provide contrast to Helmantel's work. Icons also have their own reality where colour, form and perspective serve the Divine with the aim of making that which transcends the artist visible to the observer.
Art on loan
For this exhibition, ING will be lending two works of art from its Collection, both of which are entitled Still Life – from 1988. “Our reason for doing that,”explains Caroline Vos, curator of the ING Collection, “is because it is important for us to share our cultural heritage with the widest audience possible. Normally, the art is displayed in our corridors, offices, conference rooms and restaurants, but we are glad to lend it out for special exhibitions.”
