As part of europalia.brasil, ING Belgium is organising until 12/02/2012 one of the four main exhibitions of this international arts festival: "Terra Brasilis".

As part of the europalia.brasil international arts festival, the ING Cultural Centre is hosting the "Terra Brasilis" exhibition. A variety of 400 artworks reflect Brazil’s natural history, from its discovery by the Portuguese through to the beginning of the 20th century. Paintings, books, drawings, engravings, maps, carpets, porcelain and silverware from Brazilian and European collections, showcase the natural resources of Brazil in a new light.

Visit the ING exhibition "Terra Brasilis" during the international arts festival europalia.brasil! Take a walk - why not with an audioguide or in a guided tour - through the Brazilian forest and you will discover traces of four centuries of scientific expeditions and research, intercontinental exchange of flora and fauna, the history of sugar cane, tobacco and coffee plantations through exceptional artworks and films reflecting the diversity of the Brazilian nature and culture.

Children’s activities

“So far,” says Diana Pana, Communication officer at Art Management ING Belgium, “the exhibition has been pretty successful and has excellent echoes in the media. And it’s not just for grown-ups, we have a lot to offer. Young visitors from 5 to 12 can make their way around this fascinating jungle through interactive children audioguides. Video images and birds whistles will most certainly captivate them, as well as the discovery of a variety of fruits, flowers and trees, exotic animals and fish.” At the end of the exhibition, a surprise is waiting: children can taste Brazil’s cashew nuts and other delicious dried fruits…
