Connecting customers through coffee and creativity
Recently, Nationale-Nederlanden has opened a public café in her Rotterdam office building in order to connect with the city of Rotterdam, its people, and its customers.
On 20 February 2013, Nationale-Nederlanden, ING’s insurance company in the Netherlands, opened its Nationale-Nederlanden Douwe Egberts Café (NN Café). This initiative was taken in cooperation with Douwe Egberts, a well-respected coffee brand in the Netherlands.
His Excellency, Mr. Ahmed Aboutaleb, Mayor of the city of Rotterdam, opened the NN Café by making his first “Latte Art”. During a short speech, he described the NN Café as one of the living rooms in the city of Rotterdam.
Connecting customer through coffee and creativity
“Customers want to have easy contact with their financial providers,” says Tom Kliphuis, CEO of Nationale-Nederlanden. “Therefore, we have opened the NN Café to have more direct contact with our customers.”
Answering financial questions
Besides offering a good cup of coffee, NN Café provides a comfortable area for lounging and working. There’s also a special space within the Café in which customers can meet agents or in which workshops can be organised. Workshop topics can range from coffee to art, and to any financial topics ranging from pensions to buying a house. In addition, a monthly “open office hour” will be organised to answer any financial questions customers may have.
Young and creative talent
In the open “art space”, customers can enjoy creative exhibitions presented by cultural institutions. The “art space” will host changing exhibitions with a focus on young and creative talent. The first collaboration is with the Kunsthal Rotterdam, a satellite exhibition of “The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk” is currently on display in the NN Café.
Drop by and enjoy more than a good cup of coffee.
