As part of our commitment to educators, ING honors and encourages excellence in education through a number of programs and sponsorships, including:

Founded by General Colin Powell and his wife, Alma, America’s Promise Alliance is the nation’s largest partnership of groups committed to ensuring that children receive the fundamental resources they need to lead successful, healthy and productive lives and build a stronger society. ING has made a five-year, $3 million commitment to support the organization.

The ING Unsung Heroes® program recognizes those classroom heroes who take teaching to new heights and make learning fun. Each year, ING presents 100 grants totaling $240,000 to help fund innovative classroom projects nationwide.

ING wants to help people achieve not just financial fitness, but physical fitness as well. We work with local communities to create school-based running and fitness programs. These community partnerships, which we call the ING Run for Something Better, introduce young people to the joys and challenges of running and show kids how exercise can help achieve good health.

ING DIRECT has developed the Planet Orange web site, which features a Teachers Resource Center, to get kids excited about financial education.

ING partners with the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) to help provide solutions and showcase best practices in meeting the educational needs of all students regardless of their socio-economic background.

ING is proud to be the first-ever presenting sponsor of the National Teacher of the Year, a program of the Council of Chief State School Officers, which is the oldest, most prestigious national honors program recognizing excellence in K-12 education in the U.S.
