Seguros Comercial América

At the end of 1993, the two strongest insurance companies in Mexico at the time Seguros La Comercial (founded in 1936) and Seguros América (founded in 1933) merged to form Seguros Comercial América. In 1996, the company merged with the insurer Asemex Aseguradora Mexicana (founded in 1937), becoming one of the largest insurance companies in Latin America and the leader in the Mexican market.

In 2001, ING Group acquired majority ownership in Seguros Comercial América. Seguros Comercial América has extensive distribution with a network of more than 8,000 agents.
