It’s been 10 years since ING first opened its doors in Turkey. The journey hasn’t been easy, but through the hard work and perseverance the bank has become the innovative challenger it is today.

Celebration of 10 years in Turkey

ING’s determination to build the best bank in Turkey helped it to overcome hardships and uncertainties during its 10-year journey, said John McCarthy, chairman of ING in Turkey at the bank’s anniversary celebrations in Istanbul on 16 September.

Innovation is highly valued in Turkey. This is reflected in customers’ willingness to embrace technology and use the many new banking products and services ING has introduced here. These include digital wallet ParaMara and the mobile-based Orange Assistant, which notifies customers, for example, when a payment is due or when they have to buy a birthday present.

YouTube channel Para Mevzuları (Money stuff) educates consumers about banking and money, empowering people to take care of their finances and stay a step ahead in life and in business.

To celebrate their hard work, ING organised an event for its employees in Turkey at Istanbul’s Ulker Arena. Taking to the stage, Pinar Abay, CEO of ING Turkey, told a story about courage, commitment and passion – a story all ING employees are a part of.

“Orange is not about numbers for me,” she said, “it’s mostly about hearts”.

“I don't have to act in a certain way, but be who I truly am, every day. I am committed to this orange soul with great passion. And I know that each one of us is too.”
