Eric Boyer de la Giroday, ING Bank’s former vice chairman has been appointed an Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau by Her Majesty the Queen of The Netherlands. The royal decoration was presented to him on Tuesday October 11, 2011 by the Municipal Executive Councillor of Amsterdam, Eric van der Burg.

Eric Boyer receives the royal decoration for his contribution to the development of ING Group during his long standing career at ING and for his extensive contribution to the international banking sector, for example in the field of helping to establish the International Financial Reporting Standards and the Basel III framework.

Eric Boyer served ING from 1984-2011, during which he fulfilled several roles. He was appointed to the Management Board Banking in 2009 and became vice chairman as of 1 January 2010. Prior to this appointment, Eric Boyer was a member of the Executive Board of ING from April 2004-June 2009. He retired from ING on 1 October 2011. He will remain associated with ING in his role as chairman of the Supervisory Board of ING Belgium.
