ING finalises third outsourcing agreement

Amsterdam, 14 December 2006

ING Group announced today that it has reached a final agreement with a group of suppliers consisting of Accenture, Atos Origin, Getronics and KPN. As announced at the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on 4 July 2006, the contracts cover the provision, installation, maintenance and support of desktops, laptops, printers and telephones of 53,000 ING employees in Europe.

The combined contracts have a total value of EUR 750 million and will run for a period of seven years. Approximately 430 ING employees will be transferred to the suppliers.

The agreement allows ING to improve the quality of its workplace services and lower its operational costs. It is one of the first European ‘third generation’ outsourcing deals. Under this type of agreement, each supplier has an individual contract with ING while an integrator is responsible for the portfolio of services to be delivered.

The agreement is the third large outsourcing project to be finalised within the Operations and IT efficiency programme that was announced on November 2, 2005. The ING Group efficiency programme is on track and is expected to generate annual cost savings of EUR 460 million, including EUR 230 million for the streamlining and outsourcing of the Operations & IT organisation as of 2008.
