Alessandro, who joined ING from Unicredit Group, has been appointed CEO of the Italian state-owned export credit agency SACE (Servizi Assicurativi del Commercio Estero). SACE offers a wide range of instruments for credit insurance, investment protection and financial guarantees that support the growth and competitiveness of Italian business around the world.

“While we regret that Alessandro is leaving ING, we recognise and appreciate that it is an honour for him to be appointed to such a high-level position that directly supports the growth of the Italian economy. We wish him great success in his new role,” said Aris Bogdaneris, Head of Challengers and Growth Markets.
“A successor will be appointed shortly who will continue to roll out our Think Forward strategy in Italy, with its focus on customer experience and innovation.”

Alessandro Decio said, “Faced with the possibility of doing something I hope can be important for Italy’s development, I felt obliged to accept this challenge and the important responsibilities as CEO of SACE. I will always continue to be a fan, a friend and a client of ING Italy, and I will observe its future successes with great enthusiasm.”
