All ING entities in Europe are now classified as Top Employers following an announcement in Amsterdam last week.

ING’s Global Program Manager for Strategic Recruitment Gusta Timmermans and ING Poland HR Director Sobota Grażyna accept the Top Employer award on behalf of ING at a ceremony in Amsterdam.

The Top Employers Institute made the announcement at a ceremony on Friday. Apart from the European-wide classification, Spain, Poland, France, Belgium and the UK were all individually named as top employers.

The Top Employer Institute is an independent organisation that measures employee offerings against an international standard.

Victoria Alcober from the Top Employers Institute was full of praise for ING saying it had a robust culture, solid values and a strong drive for integrity and trust. This she said was conveyed throughout the whole organisation. “ING is more than a bank. It’s a big orange family working and living together with common goals in mind,” she said.

ING is no stranger to having Top Employer status. ING Belgium, for instance, has been recognised as a Top Employer for 11 successive years. However, this year’s announcement is the first time that ING has been given European-wide recognition.

The institute assessed ING’s employee offering examining all areas of Human Resources and the services it offers. It undertook two separate audits in a process that took several months.

Global head of HR, Hein Knaapen said being classified as a top employer should help to strengthen the Bank’s position in the labour market and help attract the people it needs to implement its strategic ambitions.
