NN Group floats away

On 2 July, NN Group’s shares began trading on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, Euronext Amsterdam, marking the beginning of a new era for NN Group as an independent company.

It was also a significant day for ING Group, as the NN Group listing meant the company was in the end phase of its restructuring programme.

NN Group CEO Lard Friese and ING Group CEO Ralph Hamers were on hand at the stock exchange to witness the occasion along with executives and management from both NN Group and ING.

Lard Friese celebrated the listing by striking the stock exchange’s gong which signals the beginning of trading each day.

Ralph Hamers congratulated NN Group on their successful stock exchange debut and said the hard work in preparing NN for listing was well rewarded.

He said that following the NN Group IPO, ING would now be a banking organisation with investments in two successful listed insurance businesses – Voya Financial and NN Group. It is ING’s aim to fully divest both businesses by the end of 2016.
