ING Direct Australia helps to rediscover lifelong dreams

05 March 2015 ... min read

At the launch of the Think Forward strategy last year, our CEO Ralph Hamers explained the ING’s new purpose of empowering people to stay a step ahead in life and business. All sustainable progress is driven by people with the imagination and determination to improve their future and the futures of those around them and – as Ralph said – banking is about empowering people and organisations to realise their own vision for a better future – however modest or grand.

Eleven months later, ING Direct Australia has come up with an exciting new way to help customers get ahead by introducing a new campaign that aims to get customers to rediscover their lifelong dreams.

Goal Getter!

Called Goal Getter, ING’s aim is to engage and provide incentives to customers to share and reach their goals and in doing so, give them the chance to win one of five prizes of AUD10,000. In asking customers to visualise their goals, the Bank is setting in motion the process of achieving those goals. A classic case of empowering customers.

The concept, which asks people to submit their goals into Goal Getter an interactive website, has been a huge success. Within 3 days the amount of entries was 232% of the target goal number. The campaign ends on 30 April 2015 and entries can still be submitted.

Help customers

Based on the input of the campaign ING Direct Australia will tailor their communications and offers for customers who engage with ING through this promotion and help them get ahead. For example, customers in Australia who have told us that they have a volunteering goal or want to start a socially focussed business will be prioritised to be included in ING’s Dreamstarter Program communications to make sure they know that we can help them.

ING Direct Australia customers that have an Orange Everyday are also being given an extra incentive to reach their goals with those depositing more than AUD1,000 a month earning up to four-percent variable interest.

Great response

Not only have Australians been quick to submit entries, they’ve praised the initiative on Facebook.
