Małgorzata Kołakowska appointed head of ING Wholesale Banking in the UK, Ireland and Middle East

Małgorzata Kołakowska has been appointed head of ING Wholesale Banking (WB) in the UK, Ireland and Middle East. Her role, based in London, is subject to regulatory approval.

Named ‘Banker of the Year’ by Forbes and Poland’s ‘Best Manager’ by Bloomberg Businessweek Polska, Małgorzata helped ING become one of the leading banks in Poland.

“With her wealth of experience, Małgorzata will continue to strengthen our franchise and navigate us smoothly through the changes brought by Brexit,” said Isabel Fernandez, head of Wholesale Banking.

Małgorzata has been head of the WB Network since April 2016, where as a member of the WB executive team she has significantly contributed to the growth of the business. Previously, Małgorzata was the CEO of ING in Poland, responsible for both Retail and Wholesale Banking. During this time, she modernised and grew the business, winning ‘Best Bank’ awards from respected publications like The Banker and Euromoney.

“Małgorzata’s move to London signals a big step in ING’s growth ambitions in the region,” said Isabel.
