ING’s foreign exchange strategy team was recently rewarded for the accuracy of its forecasts by clinching the title Best Forecaster in Global Finance magazine’s Best FX Providers 2016 awards.

In making the award, the magazine said: “Amsterdam-based ING has repeatedly topped rankings of foreign exchange banks for accuracy in forecasting currency rates in recent years. It did this primarily by being bearish on the euro versus the dollar, although its picks were consistently solid across eight currency pairs.”

The award follows success in 2014, when Bloomberg Business declared ING the world’s most accurate currency forecaster, after it consistently topped rankings by foreign-exchange analysts during the year.

The small foreign exchange strategy team , which numbers only three, is part of ING’s Global Markets Research unit based in London.

Head of the foreign exchange strategy team, Chris Turner said: “Having our team named best forecaster is a real honour and testament to the strength and depth of talent in ING’s research unit. In years to come, we will continue to work to our best abilities to serve our broad range of client interests, just as we have in the past.“
