Orange Insurance Intermediary Services is ING Turkey’s new business, offering a variety of insurance products from different companies under one roof. The new business is called Sigorta Cini (Insurance Genie).

Easily accessible points

Shops branded as Sigorta Cini bring insurance services to the consumer at easily accessible points. The retail chain, with five shops planned at the outset, opened its first three shops in Istanbul and Ankara. Sigorta Cini will offer life insurance and retirement products, in addition to all non-life insurance products. Customers will no longer need to obtain separate insurance quotes from the agencies of various non-life providers. Experienced advisers help customers make the right choice and to understand and compare the benefits of products from selected providers.

Determine exact needs

In Sigorta Cini shops, established in shopping centres or at similar central locations, friendly consultants assess the expectations of customers and determine their exact needs by asking detailed questions. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the consultants prepare a quote for the most appropriate policy from the insurance providers.

Non-confusing insurance

Pieter-Bas Vos, general manager of Sigorta Cini, calls the programme ‘non-confusing insurance’. “We have conducted extensive market research and we have seen that a lack of communication and education is one of the main barriers to growth in the market. People are not given enough information about the product and what it can offer them. They sometimes do not believe in the benefits and they often do not see the value of the money paid for insurance. This could create the perception that insurance is expensive and useless”.

Instant comparison

Vos says that seven of the top insurers in Turkey, including local companies and global insurance providers, have committed to work with Sigorta Cini. “The instant comparison of product features of many providers in an easily accessible, face-to-face environment is totally new in the Turkish insurance market. Through the conventional channels, customers can only get price comparisons between two or three companies and for that, they have to wait until the agent gets quotes”.
