2007 Corporate Responsibility Report available
For 2007, ING has published two documents in which it reports on its Corporate Responsibility strategy and performance: the CR Brochure and the CR Performance Report. In the foreword to the Brochure, CEO Michel Tilmant writes that “in 2007, climate change remained a priority for ING and we continued our efforts to prevent, manage and reduce our environmental impact. As a result we met our target of becoming 100% carbon neutral globally. I also take great personal pride in the fact that ING and its employees helped raise funds for the education of around 125,000 children; one child for every employee in the company.”
The CR Brochure, consisting of six pages, highlights ING’s CR strategy, performance and several topics that were most important to stakeholders and ING in 2007. Subjects covered in the brochure include Our environmental impact, Frequently asked questions and ING Chances for Children. This is our main charitable programme in cooperation with UNICEF, which supports community organisations involved with children’s education wherever we do business.
The CR Brochure is available in English and in Dutch, both in print and as a pdf-file.
The CR Performance Report gives detailed information on ING’s performance in the area of corporate responsibility in 2007. It describes the steps taken towards achieving the objectives in the four areas covered by ING’s CR strategy: social and environmental impact of its products and services, our people, community benefits, and direct environmental impact. ING follows the sustainability reporting guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
