ING among signatories UN Principles for Sustainable Insurance

ING is amongst the founding signatories to the UN Principles for Sustainable Insurance (UN PSI) that were launched on 19 June at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro.

Over the past months, ING Insurance has been involved with the development of a framework for the global insurance industry, called the Principles for Sustainable Insurance – an initiative led by the insurance industry and supported by the United Nations (UNEP FI).

Sustainable insurance aims to reduce risk, develop innovative solutions, improve business performance and contribute to environmental, social and economic sustainability. The Principles are a voluntary and aspirational framework. Aegon, Achmea, Aviva, AXA, Munich Re and Swiss Re are amongst the founding signatories as well.

We consider it our most important challenge to better demonstrate that we provide real value that benefits our customers and society. Being a member of UNEP FI and a partner for the PSI is meaningful to our organisation.
